UBCHEA funded Seminar on Ayurvedic medicines and formulation
Biotechnology Department, UC College conducted a seminar on “THE REGENERATOR ORGAN AND THEIR RECHARGERS – LECTURES ON HERBAL MEDICINES” ON 29TH October 2014. Dr. M. Manoj, Senior Medical Officer (NC), Department of Indian System of Medicine, Govt of Kerala was the invited speaker. The occasion was presided over by the Principal, Dr. Benny Cherian and was inaugurated by Manager Dr. Raju K John. The seminar was organized by Biotechnology department Co-ordinator, Dr. Shirley Thomas and Asst. Professor Ms. Anju V Nair. The seminar is first of a series of four under the UBCHEA project grant for Ms. Jyoti Lekshmy S of Biotechnology department. The seminar was The seminar was attended by the faculty members and students of Department of Biotechnology and Department of Bioinformatics. The seminar had three sessions, 1) Introduction to Ayurvedic life, 2) Herbal medicines and 3) Ayurvedic dosage forms. The students participated actively in the query sessions and in the contest: “Identifying the medicinal plants”. BT&SP first years and MSc Biotechnology second years won the prizes in the contest.
